We have seen this new differential on:
- 2019 Ram 2500 and 3500
- 2020 Ram 2500 and 3500
- 2021 Ram 2500 and 3500
Always check your truck to verify your differential and clearance. Configurations vary.
We do not know if all trucks or just some are getting these newer differentials.
PML also makes a rear differential cover for 2020 GM 2500 and 3500 trucks.

2019 and newer Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks may have this new American Axle Manufacturing (AAM) 14 bolt differential. The ring gear may be 12 or 11.8 or 11.5 inches.
PML designed this differential cover based on the stock cover from a 2019 Ram 2500, which has a slightly different shape and bolt hole pattern than 2018 and older trucks.
Check your factory fluid change procedure before ordering. The level check hole on the PML cover is about 3/8 inch diameter. If you need a large level check hole, for example a hole you can stick your finger in, you would need to use a tool or this cover may not work for you.

On this PML cover, the level check is the small hole on the right/passenger side. There is a fill hole on the top and drain on the bottom.
A magnetic drain plug and plugs for the level check and fill holes are included.
Check your factory fluid change procedure before ordering. The fluid level check procedure is the same with the stock cover as with the PML cover. On the PML cover, the level check hole diameter is about 0.300 (3/8) inch. If a larger level check hole is needed (for example, if you need to stick your finger in the level check hole), contact PML.
If this cover is ordered with 1/8 NPT hole for an aftermarket temperature sending unit, the hole will be machined on the left/driver side of the cover at about the 8 o'clock position. A plug is provided. Machining for a temperature sensor is OPTIONAL.

PML includes new mounting bolts, fill plug, level check hole plug, and a magnetic drain plug with each cover. The washer for the magnetic drain plug can be reused.
