PML designed this cover for these trucks:
- Ram 2500, 2003 to 2013 with the high output diesel, 5.9 diesel or 6.7 diesel
- Ram 2500 Mega Cab, 2006 to 2013 with the 5.7 Hemi, 5.9 diesel, or 6.7 diesel, may have AAM 10.5 check shape
- Ram 3500, 2003 to 2018, maybe 2019 and newer
- Some GM/Chevy Heavy Duty trucks, see note below
Always check your vehicle to verify differential and clearance. Configurations vary.
2019 and newer trucks: see PML Part Number 11176. The differential on these 2019 and newer trucks may be a similar AAM with a 12 inch ring gear.
2014 to 2018 Ram 3500: check for bracket on stock cover as shown in this picture:
The bracket works with PML Part Number 11147. This bracket has been seen on 3500 trucks with the optional air bag leveling.
2003 to 2013 Ram 2500: Some 2500s have the AAM 10.5 rear axle. Usually, Ram 2500s with the V10, or standard output diesel, or the 5.7 Hemi (regular, quad or crew cab models) have the 10.5. See our AAM 10.5 inch cover. The American Axle 10.5 cover is flat at the bottom while the 11.5 comes to a point. You might have a sticker in the glove box or on the driver side door that states the differential specifications.
2014 to 2018 Ram 2500 With Sway and Pan Hard Bars: See PML cover part number 11147.
Silverado or Sierra 2500HD 8.1 or diesel, 3500 or 3500HD with this AAM 11.5 rear: If you choose to use this cover, part number 10361, you have to bend the brake bracket located at the top of the cover. PML part number 9511 fits the same differential and accommodates the brake bracket.
Some new trucks have an 11.8 inch ring gear. The cover does not change.
There are several gear ratios for this differential, such as 3.42 and 3.73. The ratio does not change the ring gear size, 11.5 or 11.8 inches.

The PML cover is 1 inch deeper than the 2003 stock cover.

This PML differential cover fits the American Axle Manufacturing (AAM) rear axle with 11.5 inch (292mm) or 11.8 inch (300mm) ring gear found on Ram heavy duty trucks.

This differential cover has oil fill, level check, and drain holes to make it easy to follow the 15K oil change interval that Dodge specifies for the AAM axles used in 2003 and newer Ram 2500 & 3500 trucks.
PML includes plugs, mounting bolts and a magnetic drain plug.
Optional Machining for Temperature Sending Unit
This cover has an undrilled boss below the level check hole. Optionally, PML drill and tap this boss with a 1/8 NPT hole for an aftermarket temperature sending unit.
Front Cover for 4WD Trucks
PML also makes a cover for the front differentials on Dodge Ram trucks. On our front covers, PML keeps the profile close that of the stock cover to avoid interference with the steering, frame or suspension.
